Lonely Planet Again Ranks Maine as a Top 25 Place to Visit in 2026

Lonely Planet, one of the world's largest publishers of travel books and apps, announced its picks for the top 25 destinations to visit in the world for 2026, naming Maine No. 3 and only the second location in the USA,  above regions in the Caribbean, Asia, Africa and Europe! Nitya Chambers, Lonely Planet’s executive editor and senior vice president of content, said this about Maine: “Maine has such a unique culture in the United States,” says Chambers. “So coastal, so much hiking in nature. The beauty there is really distinctive and the four national parks there are amazing.”
